Charles Heerey Memorial Juniorate

Charles Heerey Memorial Juniorate (CHMJ) is an esteemed Catholic Girl’s High School located in Urualla, Ideato North Local Government Area, Imo State – Nigeria. It was established in January 1971 by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Mother of Christ (IHM) in line with the vision of Archbishop Charles Heerey – founder of IHM. His vision was to create a training institution for aspiring Catholic young girls with the objective of providing them with a holistic formation that prepares them to become Reverend Sisters or virtuous Catholic women.

As faith may have it, the Lord called him home before his vision became a reality. However his dream was actualized through the Sisters of IHM. The school was named after him as a tribute to his contributions.

Additionally, CHMJ offers a range of academic programs and extracurricular activities designed to equip young girls with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to succeed in their academic pursuits and beyond. For more than 50 years now, CHMJ has produced an impressive number of success stories among its alumnae, who make immense contributions to society.

As Junioratans, we continue to hold our Alma Mater close to our hearts and treasure the values instilled in us by our time at CHMJ. We strive to make continued efforts to support our school as a team because we recognize the vital role it has played in molding us to who we are today.
